The New Year's concert of the orchestra and soloists of the Hungarian Opera from Cluj will take place on January the 6th and January the 15th 2022 at 7 PM. The concert will include musical rarities.

The journey begins in Venice, with selections from Johann Strauss Jr.'s operetta "A Night in Venice": the overture, "The Gondolier's Aria" - Bardon Tony, "Annina's Aria" - Balázs Borbála, "The Waltz of the Lagoons" - Pataki Adorján, " Duet Annina - Duce "- Balázs Borbála, Bardon Tony and "The Quartet"- Balázs Borbála, Veress Orsolya, Tony Bardon, Pataki Adorján.

The journey goes on with works from the Russian repertoire, whilst we arrive in St. Petersburg. Firstly, we will listen to works written by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov: "Polonaise" from the opera "The Christmas Eve" and "The Jesters' Dance" from the opera "The Snow Girl".

Then we will enjoy "Grand pas des fiancés" from the ballet "Ruses d'amour" by Alexandr Glazunov. Sándor Barabás will play the violin solo and Kostyák Előd will play the cello solo.

The series of works will go on with Modest Mussorgsky: "Gopak" from the comic opera "TheSorocinsk Fair" and "Varlaam's Song" from "Boris Godunov", performed by the soloist Sándor Csaba.

During the musical journey, three excerpts from Alexandr Glazunov's " Scenes de ballet " will take place: "Mazurka", "Adagio" and "Polonaise".

The concert will end with Dmitri Shostakovich's famous waltz.

We are looking forward to seeing you on this exciting journey, with rarely performed pieces that will accompany you from Venice to St. Petersburg, in the performance of the orchestra and soloists of the Hungarian Opera from Cluj.
