On Saturday, music lovers had the chance to watch pianist George Todică, winner of the George Enescu International Competition, 2022 at the Romanian Athenaeum, in a recital organized by Radio România Muzical and Rotary Club Pipera as part of the project "Heirs of Musical Romania". The recital is part of the event series held by young Romanian musicians, winners of the George Enescu International Competition, which our post and Rotary Club Pipera organize together with Artexim. Our colleague Cristina Comandașu, the initiator of the project "Heirs of Musical Romania" presented the event.

The programme that the young pianist prepared was very diverse, from a stilistic point of view and the opera that he chose were ones close to his soul, as he mentioned in an interview for our radio station. For an hour, we have listened Pavane for a Dead Princessby Maurice Ravel, the piece was preceded by Toccata, Sarabanda and Pavana from Piano Suite No.2 by George Enescu, and also Andante spianato and Polonaise in E-flat Major by Frédéric Chopin.

We were able to admire George Todică'sbrilliant technique with his unique sense of interpreting, each sound enjoying a special type of expressivity. The young pianist fully rejoiced over each sound interpreted on the stage of the Romanian Athenaeum and the audiece rewarded him with a long round of applause. As an encore, the artist interpreted Prelude in B Minor Op.32 No.12 in G-sharp Minor by Sergei Rachmaninoff.
