Renaud Capuçon and the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra will be performing at the Victoria Hall in Geneva, Wednesday 17th of January 2023, 8.30 pm

Monday, 15 January 2024 , ora 10.23

Radio România Muzical will broadcast live this exceptional concerto from the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra season. The soloist and conductor will be Renaud Capuçon, he became an artistic director of the orchestra in autumn 2021. The celebrated French performer's great musical experience, dynamism and artistic breadth have been a huge opportunity for the orchestra, which has since further strengthened its international reputation.

Renaud Capuçon has already released two albums with the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra on the Warner Classic label. The first is dedicated to the Estonian composer Arvo Pärt in 2021, and the second, in 2022, brings together the four concertos op.8 "The Seasons" by Antonio Vivaldi as well as two concertos by the French composer, born in Guadeloupe, Chevalier de Saint George. The completed violin concertos by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with Renaud Capuçon as soloist were released in September 2023 on Deutsche Grammophon, the French violinist and conductor's new recording partner.

During the evening of the 17th of January, we will hear one of the concertos devoted to the violin by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the Concerto No. 5 KV 219 in A major "Turkish" that Renaud Capuçon, in a double capacity, as soloist and conductor, will present, together with the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, at the "Victoria" Hall in Geneva.

The programme will continue with Richard Strauss' Metamorphoses Study for 23 strings and will end with Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony I Op. 21 in C major.

We look forward to seeing you on the frequencies of our broadcasting station!
