Tickets and subscriptions for the Online Concerts of the Enescu Competition 2021 are for sale starting on Monday, 19^th of April 2021, at 15:00 o'clock.

The George Enescu International Competition begins Monday on the 19^th of April 2021 at 15:00 o'clock. Tickets and subscriptions are being sold for the online viewing of the extraordinary concerts and recitals which will be organized during the second phase of the 2020 edition of the Competition, between the 12^th and the 23^rd of May at the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest. At the beginning of May, depending on the epidemic situation in Bucharest, it shall be decided if the public will have access in the Athenaeum hall and under what conditions.

The George Enescu International Competition 2020 carried out its first phase last year, with the promise of bringing "Beauty in life", in spite of the pandemic. The competition was reimagined online, holding the first two stages of the competition in digital format on September 2020. The results can be viewed here. Regarding the Semi-finals and Finals, the 23 semi-finalists of the three instruments (violin, cello and piano), conductors and the majority of the jury will come to Bucharest, while adhering to sanitation rules.

The Semi-finals will consist of the contestants' recitals of George Enescu's sonatas and will take place on the 13^th of May - cello, 17^th May - violin, 23^rd of May - piano. Online access to the Semi-finals is free and will be available on www.festivalenescu.ro.

Regarding the Finals, the chosen contestants will hold a concert with the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra, guided by the baton of some internationally famous conductors - Nicolas Altstaedt, Wilson Hermanto and John Axelrod. The Finals will take place on the 15^th of May 2021 - cello, 19^th of May 2021 - violin and on the 23^rd of May 2021 - piano. Viewing access to these concertscan be obtained with paid tickets or subscriptions.

In-between the competition phases, music lovers can enjoy six extraordinary recitals held by members of the jury and reference-musicians of the moment - Trio Mihaela Martin, Frans Helmerson & Plamena Mangova; Roland Pontinen; Dmitry Sitkovetsky & Iain Burnside - and by the winners of a previous edition of the Enescu Competition - Vikram Sedona - violin, Marcel Johannes Kits - cello și Victoria Vassilenko - piano. Access to recitals is obtained through paid tickets or subscriptions.

Prices:

Full Subscription, which covers 9 classical music events(the final concerts with violins, cellos and piano and the six extraordinary recitals of the invited artists.) - 100 RON;

Individual ticket, for a single concert (one of the finals for the violin, cello or piano) or an extraordinary recital - 30 RON.

The concerts can be viewed on the platform of the Enescu Competition, (https://www.festivalenescu.ro/concurs-2020/) which can be accessed once the concerts or recitals begin andfor 12 hours after the performance, on a single electronic device of your choosing (computer, telephone, tablet). Live broadcasts can be accessed from the Competition Program 2020/2021 section or from each of the events' page from the site. They can be accessedvia the unique access code found on each ticket, which must be typed out or copy-pasted in the designated area of each event page. Every code is unique and made up of both letters and numbers. The organizers of the Competition have taken all necessary measures in order to ensure the health and safety of the artists who are coming to Romania as well as of the public. The organizer has a right to change the format of certain events and in accordance to the situation, to postpone or cancel certain events of the Enescu Competition, in case certain measures are necessary or desirable in the context of the evolving COVID-19 pandemic. In case the competition isobligated to shut down, customers will receive a refund.

The George Enescu Competition functions as an international platform to highlight skilled future musicians of the world and to promote the compositions of the great Romanian musician to the new generation of artists across the world. As such, it is a given addition to the George Enescu Festival, the most important international cultural event organized in Romania. The Competition has four sections - violin, cello, piano and composition - and regarding classical music competitions worldwide, this competition is placed in the top five.
