The "Heirs of Musical Romania" project is one of the most relevant programs for promoting and supporting young musicians, a project by Radio România Muzical and Rotary Club Pipera, running since 2018 with two directions: recitals and concerts with young musicians already established at an international level, held in notable venues in Bucharest and across the country, as well as a competition for a scholarship worth 4500 euros, aimed at musicians aged between 16 and 24 years old.

In 2024, for the fifth edition of the "Heirs of Musical Romania" competition, 18 young musicians registered. The jury, which analyzed these applications, was composed of notable figures from the Romanian musical scene: Cristina Comandașu - manager of Radio RomâniaMuzical, initiator of the project;Kovacs Emöke - manager of the "Dinu Lipatti" Philharmonic in Satu Mare; Silvia Sbârciu- manager of the "Transilvania" Philharmonic in Cluj-Napoca; Liliana Staicu - director of the Radio România Projects and Events Center; Ivona Stănculeasa - manager of the "Oltenia" Philharmonic in Craiova; Sebastian Tegzeșiu- manager of the Philharmonic in Brașov; Cristina Uruc - interim manager of Artexim. The Rotary Club Pipera delegate member: Dan Popescu.

In 2024, the 4500-euro scholarship will be awarded to cellist Jan Sekaci, who will also give a recital in Bucharest as part of the scholarship, organized by Radio România Muzical. The radio station will also offer him a special recording session in 2025.

Jan Sekaci is scheduled to perform concerts during the seasons of the philharmonics in Satu Mare (2025-2026 season), Cluj (2025-2026 season), Craiova (2024-2025 season), and a recital at the Brașov Philharmonic (2024-2025 season).

Jan Sekaci (23 years old), originally from Oradea, is currently a student at the Barenboim-Said Academy in Berlin. In 2021, he won first prize at the Johannes Brahms Competition in Austria, the most significant award he has received to date from a long list of national and international prizes. Jan Sekaci performed with great success in the season of the Radio Chamber Orchestra (February 29th, 2024), a concert broadcast live by Radio România Muzical and TVR Cultural.

A concert in the 2025-2026 season of the Radio Chamber Orchestra will feature pianist Dominik Ilisz; the young musician will be nominated by Radio România Muzical for the title of "Young Artist of the Year" at the 2026 International Classical Music Awards (ICMA) gala.

Dominik Ilisz(20 years old), originally from Oradea, is currently a student at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW). He has won numerous national and international awards, and his performance during the Radio Chamber Orchestra season (March 23, 2022), which he earned as a prize in the 2021 "Heirs of Musical Romania" scholarship competition, was highly praised.

The "Dinu Lipatti" Philharmonic in Satu Mare will host a recital by clarinetist Petru Pane (19 years old), one of the most promising young musicians of his generation, during the 2024-2025 season. Petru Pane is already scheduled for a special recording session in July 2024 at the Radio România studios, following his participation in the 2023 "Heirs of Musical Romania" scholarship competition.

All participants in the 2024 "Heirs of Musical Romania" scholarship competition will have the opportunity to attend an artistic assistance workshop offered by Artexim during the 2024-2025 season.

Radio România Muzical and Rotary Club Pipera would like to thank all the musicians who participated in the selection for the "Heirs of Musical Romania" scholarship. The future of Romanian performing arts lies with those who carry forward the tradition of excellence and professionalism.
