Jazz guitarist LiviuNegru will perform the launch concert of his first album, Bring the Good News, on Monday, the 24th of March, in Bucharest, at the cultural centre ARCUB Gabroveni. The event starts at 8 PM.

Big Band Radio guitarist LiviuNegru releases his debut album as leader of Bring the Good News. We will elaborate on the subject withLiviuNegru himself. Welcome to Radio România Muzical.

Hello, nice to see you. Thank you very much for this invitation.

Firstly, tell us about the launch event and the band you'll be playing with.

The launch event is on the 24th of March at ARCUB Gabroveni. The band members are Adi Tetrade on drums, Vlad Briciu on keyboard and Alex Buzuc on bass. They come from different backgrounds, but they share common passions and that's when I thought I would like to work with them.

A bit about the album. The title is very upbeat, somewhat against the current. What can you tell us about the music, what inspired you?

The album is inspired by the fusion of many different styles of music that I listen to and like. It contains elements of jazz, funk, R&B, soul, being into jazz as well, but also into this other area, let's say, 80's pop, Quincy Jones and what he produced. They fused and gave birth to the songs on the album. Of course, there were many sources of inspiration, so to speak, and from everyday life events. The title of this album is the title of a song. The track starts with a guitar riff and it leads a bit into the funk zone and it reminds me of something nice, it's like waking up in the morning and hearing that riff, giving you such a nice mood and such good energy. I just came up with the title, I say Bring the Good News, it's like you get a phone call in the morning that something good has happened in your life and hearing that riff I associated it with that title.

How will we find the album? Probably from the day of release, physically, on streaming platforms?

The album will be distributed in the whole Cărturești network, because it was produced by A&A Records and they can make this distribution possible. The CD will be physically ready soon and, in a week or two, the distribution should start, and as for the streaming platforms, I'm going to post it there as well. I haven't managed to manage all the organisational aspects yet, but it will definitely be on the platforms.
