Interview with Dorin Ioniță, director of the Lanto Communication Association
On Saturday, December 13th, 2025, the Romanian Athenaeum will host the 15th edition of the "Magic Winter" concert, performed by the "George Enescu" Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir, conducted by Tiberiu Soare. For more details, Dorin Ioniță, Director of the Lanto Communication Association and organizer of the event, speaks with Ioana Țintea.
Mr. Dorin Ioniță, on Saturday, December 13th, the Romanian Athenaeum will host the 15th edition of the extraordinary "Magic Winter" concert-an event dedicated to the partners of the Lanto Communication Association, who support you year after year and make the International "Magic Summer" Festival possible. What have you prepared for this special evening?
It truly is a special evening, and once again I'd like to express my gratitude-my sincere gratitude, I want to emphasize-to my partners, who help me make the Magic Summer Festival happen. First and foremost, this concert is dedicated to them. And because the George Enescu Philharmonic has always stood by me, this year's concert will feature the Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir, with Tiberiu Soare on the podium. The program will include arias and overtures-music full of hope, joy, and confidence in tomorrow.
I imagine that the audience and the partners of the Lanto Communication Association play an essential role in the continuity of the cultural projects you initiate. How has this relationship evolved over time?
A great deal of trust has grown between us. Between me and each of my partners, a real sense of mutual confidence has developed. I rely on them, and they rely on me and on the programs I create. The best part is that everything is constantly growing-it's a continuous upward journey.
The "Magic Winter" concert has become a December tradition over the years. How has the event changed from the first edition to today?
That, too, has been a constant upward evolution. The fact that tickets sell out as early as October says a lot. Of course, most of the time the seats are managed by my partners themselves. I offer them a certain number of seats, and they invite their clients or outstanding employees to the concert... And time and again, the Athenaeum proves to be smaller than we'd need it to be.
Looking back, what motivated you to initiate these cultural events organized by the Lanto Communication Association?
I'll tell you something very honestly. In the beginning-since I'm an engineer, and as you know, I didn't come from this world, I arrived here driven by passion-when I heard artists say that applause motivates them, I often thought they were being hypocritical. But no, they're right. I was the one who was wrong. They're right because when I see the audience's faces after the concert, when I hear the applause-which isn't meant for me, but for the artists-and when I feel the joy and positive energy I gain during a concert, that's what motivates me and gives me the strength to move forward.
