Interview with the Violinist Răzvan Stoica

Wednesday, 19 February 2014 , ora 9.02

Winner of the Bratislava “New Talent” competition, the violinist Răzvan Stoica has a very full concert schedule both in Romania and abroad. During this penultimate week of February 2014 he will give an extraordinary concert with the newly-founded Kamerata Kronstadt under the baton of Cristian Oroșanu, the founder of the ensemble.

What do you feel before the concert with the Kamerata Kronstadt?

I have known the conductor Cristian Oroșanu for several years, but this is the first time we have the chance to work together in this project with the newly-founded orchestra – Kamerata Kronstadt. The repertoire I will perform is a special one, with Astor Piazzolla’s Four Seasons and a composition that is very dear to me, Georges Bizet’s Carmen Fantasy, in a version written specially for the violinist Jascha Heifetz.

Will this be the first time you give a concert at the Patria Hall of the Brașov Philharmonic, which opened last year?

Yes, this will be the first time. I have seen the hall on the Internet, I was very interested in seeing what it looked like and I have heard it has great acoustics.

What are your projects for the near future?

The most important project of ours right now is recording a new album with my sister Andreea Stoica; besides, we are working with an orchestra from the Netherlands – Kamerata Stradivarius – and we will release an album together, most likely in May.
