On Friday, March 31^st, pianist Eva Garet will be able to be seen in Concert no. 1 in B flat major by Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky with the National Radio Orchestra. The young performer tells us about her presence on the Radio Hall stage, in a dialogue with Ioana Țintea.

Eva Garet, your debut with the orchestra took place on the stage of Radio Hall in 2018, when you were only 11 years old. What memories do you keep of those moments?

Beautiful memories, of course. I remember the "Road to Fame" Contest, organized by Mr. Sebastian Crăciun from the jury, with filmmakers Ștefan Costache and Monica Isăcescu also part of it. I won against much more experienced pianists performing Vals Fantasie by Vyacheslav Gryaznov. I remember that my teacher, Mrs. Mihaela Zamfirescu, was called by the jury and asked if I could give a concert with the orchestra in the event that I win the trophy. You answered without hesitation that I could and I did. We prepared together the concert in A major by Mozart and in a few months we were on the stage of the Radio Hall in a live broadcast with the chamber orchestra under the baton of Ștefan Novac. With the same concert I debuted a few years later in Moscow under the baton of Vladimir Spivakov.

With what feelings are you waiting for the return in front of the public at Radio Hall?

Joy first, then impatience and excitement, as usual.

You will present to the public the Concert no. 1 in B flat major by Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky with the National Radio Orchestra. Is this your first time tackling this work?

Yes, it's my first Tchaikovsky I and I'm happy to do it with a fantastic orchestra and a wonderful conductor.

Who was with you in the preparation of this score?

First of all, my teacher, Mihaela Zamfirescu from the George Enescu National College of Music and then professors Vlad Dimulescu from the National University of Music and EldarNebolsin from "Hanns Eisler" Berlin.

With what thoughts are you waiting for the collaboration with the conductor Christian Badea?

My collaboration with master Christian Badea has already started. His lordship sought me out last year, impressed by my progress at the George Enescu competition. He has since become my mentor and this is our first public collaboration, the first of many to come, I hope.

Your track record includes more than 40 national and international awards and, moreover, justifies the characterization that has been made of you as a prodigy of Romanian pianists. At the age of 16 now, how do you relate to your childhood and what are your plans in terms of future piano development?

I have Sebastian Crăciun to thank for this title, but I feel that I have passed this stage of my wonderful childhood. I temporarily stopped my participation in competitions, there are several years of accumulation and consolidation of the repertoire, a lot of chamber music and collaborations with valuable artists. I want to study further in Berlin, at Hanns Eisler, and I don't rule out participating in a big international competition in the future. My artistic ideal is above all else and I will not stop until I reach it.
