Mister Oroșanu, the concert from the 1st of February 2023 will bring together on Sala Radio's stage three of the most beloved soloists of Romania. Here we are referring to pianist Horia Mihail, violinist Gabriel Croitoru and flautist Ion Bogdan Ștefănescu. Can you tell us about how this formula came about?

The repertoire's formula for this concert came about precisely thanks to them. They suggested it because they had performed the Brandenburg Concerto No.5 in this formula in other places too, but they didn't perform it here, in Bucharest so they proposed it for this concert. Usually this work is performed naturally with the harpsichord, but the idea of using the piano instead is a very brilliant one, because this is, practically, if we analyze it, the first concert for keyboard music from the history of music. And when I say 'concert' I do it because Bach had written the first part with a lot of cadence and in a very solo way. I would say that the long cadence of the keyboard instrument can be performed both by the harpsichord and piano. Thanks to their proposal of perfroming Bach, I also included Mendelssohn, Mendelssohn being one of Bach's great admirers and music's protector. So, I thought that bringing both their works together in a concert like this one would be interesting. And then, besides these two pieces of work, Symphony No.1 by Felix Mendelssohn and Brandenburg Concerto No.5 by Johann Sebastian Bach I also wanted to add two solo works for flute and violin, instruments which are of lesser importance in Brandenburg Concerto No.5. Therefore, I chose Rondo in C for Violin and Orchestra and Andante in C for Flute and Orchestra, two very beautiful and very short works from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's creation, both in C, which will basically open Wednesday's program from the Orchestra de Cameră Radio.

What does your agenda look like for the upcoming period?

In two weeks from now I willhave a concert alongside Brașov's Philharmonic and then I'll return to Bucharest at Romanian Radio National Orchestra. At the beginning of March we'll start with a French program, Camille Saint Saens's Violin Concerto No.3 with soloist Ioana Goicea and Coppélia: Suite for orchestra by Leo Delibes
